GET HEALTH INSURANCE
FROM AHCCCS or
ACA MARKETPLACE?

CUTS BY CONGRESS COULD
PUT YOUR COVERAGE AT RISK
The cost of living is hurting everyone, and anyone could be just one paycheck away from a crisis. AHCCCS, the Medicaid program in Arizona, provides health care to vulnerable and low-income kids and Arizonans. Affordable Care Act marketplace plans are made more affordable with enhanced tax credits.
We must protect health care for those who need it today and for Arizonans who will need it tomorrow.
Right now, millions of Arizona residents depend on AHCCCS for healthcare, including:

AHCCCS covers half of all births in Arizona, supporting healthy moms and babies.
Even seniors enrolled in Medicare may struggle to pay premiums or co-pays, or may need home healthcare or specialized equipment that Medicare doesn’t cover. AHCCCS fills the gap.
For families with children with disabilities, AHCCCS is a critical lifeline that covers therapies and treatments that would otherwise be entirely out of reach.
But the U.S. House of Representatives passed massive cuts to Medicaid, which provides funding for AHCCCS. If the current budget proposal goes forward, federal funding for Medicaid would be cut by $600 billion over ten years.
Congress is also forcing people to lose affordable health care by not continuing ACA enhanced premium tax credits for private marketplace plans.
The U.S. House budget bill will make life harder:
-
300,000 Arizonans will lose their health care due to Medicaid cuts and loss of ACA marketplace coverage
-
Medical debt will increase while financial security will decrease
-
Arizona’s health care system and economy, especially in rural Arizona, will be harmed by increased financial strain
